Selection process

  • All submissions are reviewed by a jury appointed by Redes Fantasma.

  • The jury selects images based on:

    • Fit with the page and context (story and message of the section)

    • Visual quality (sharpness, lighting, composition)

    • Authenticity and respectful representation of people and places

    • Consistency with our brand (tone, colours, overall feel)

  • We may contact you for additional information (credit, location, permissions) before publishing.

  • Not every submitted image can be used. Submission does not guarantee publication.

  • If selected, your image may be cropped, resized, or lightly adjusted for layout and consistency.

  • We reserve the right to remove or replace images later (page updates, rights concerns, or new selections).

Redes Fantasma

About us

Redes Fantasma is an international initiative addressing ghost nets and lost fishing gear through community-led fieldwork and practical technologies. Working with fishers, divers, researchers, NGOs, and coastal communities, and supported by strategic partners across science, civil society, and philanthropy, we develop and test solutions that prevent, detect, recover, and responsibly dispose of lost gear. Our lifecycle approach spans early intervention to long-term impact, with active field labs and networks in Portugal, Switzerland, Italy, and Germany.
